NMIT Part II

Hi there! It's been a long time since I didn't wrote anything in this blog. As I am still in my semester 4 and will be facing my final exam next Tuesday, I'd like to share another of my amazing experiences here. 

From my semester 1 until 4, my semester 4 is the most wonderful semester that I had!.. (I think)

Before this, our assignments were just focus on how to write a report by using the correct formats and an exact details and so on. But in this semester, an amazing experience came to me one by one to make me find and learned new things. 

For my Maritime Geography's assignment, all of our batch (May 2015) and seniors from semester 6 have to involve in explorace activity. 

Well, there had lots of pain, difficulty and sweet during the activity, however we enjoyed it so much and our group got a 2nd place among our classes (MTM4A & MTM4B).

For Martime Law subject, all classes in MTM course have to involve in musical theater. So, my group and I chose the case of Costa Concordia as our story/topic. I admit that our group didn't have enough preparation for this assignment.

We got an idea about this topic and practiced it at a very last minute. Besides, we got a first place for performed our theater and it made us frustrated. But then we tried to adapt and started to work together. Alhamdulillah, we got a good compliment from our lecturers, it such a relieved for us. 

Next is the best assignment ever for me, where we also had lots of pains, sweets, sours and so on in making this project. It is Supply Chain Management & Intermodal Transportation subjects. Our lecturers combined the 2 subjects become one assignment, it sounds easy but actually not. 

All MTM classes have different task/topic for the assignment but it need to be relate with the supply chain and transportation of goods.

 So, our class got a topic about a car from Europe. We decided to choose Volvo cars as majorities of them agreed. In this assignment, our class have to be divided into 3 departments which are Report Department, Model Department and Video Department (I'm in here!).

As for the video our class got a 1st place, yahoo! Model at the 3rd place and report.. I'm not sure. But, during the process of making the report (drafts), our class got a first place but for the final submission.. haha I don't have any idea. 

So yeah, that's it for this time.

Part I

Hi! I'm one of NMIT's student. What is NMIT (Netherlands Maritime Institute of Technology)? Dekat mana tu? Tak pernah dengar pun? Kenapa pilih NMIT? 

Aku masuk NMIT ni pun takde la dah lama sangat, baru habis semester 3 je pun sekarang ni, dan naik semester 4 bulan 6 ni. NMIT ni belajar pasal apa je? MARITIME. Di mana aku akan belajar mengenai pengurusan pengangkutan maritim selama 2 tahun setengah. yang setengah tu untuk internship. So far, this institute offers 3 courses for diploma levels which are Maritime Transportation Management (MTM), Shipping Management (DSM), Port Management (DPM). Dan pembelajaran dia Fully English except for Pengajian Malaysia. Kita kan macam jarang dengar atau ambil tahu pasal industri maritim ni lagi-lagi masa zaman sekolah. So, bila habis saja SPM, kita diberi pilihan untuk memilih nak sambung belajar apa, nak kerja apa, dekat mana, awam ke swasta, ada pinjaman ke tak. So, NMIT ni dia ada pinjaman pelajaran PTPTN dan MARA walaupun dia bukan anak buah MARA macam uni-uni yang lain (UNIKL, GMI, KPM).  

Itu salah satu sebab kenapa aku pilih NMIT ni. Sebab MARA. Namun, malangnya aku dan kawan-kawan batch aku masih belum menerima apa-apa pinjaman dari MARA lagi. Tahu-tahu jela, kan tengah kegawatan ekonomi ni. So, we are still waiting... even dah apply, just tunggu maklum balas jela. Oh ya, NMIT ni jugak ada 2 kampus. Satu dekat tengah-tengah bandar JB iaitu Kotaraya, satu lagi dekat Educity Nusajaya. Biasanya, students from semester 1 until 4 study kat kampus Nusajaya, while students from semester 5 and 6 dekat kampus Kotaraya.


Aku sekarang study kat kampus Nusajaya la ni. Kampus dia, facilities dia, expenditure kat sini so far okey je bagi aku. Dulu aku paling tak suka management dia, but now aku rasa it's getting better, still in development to improve. Nama pun ipts yang baru ditubuhkan. NMIT ada bagi 2 pilihan hostel untuk students yang baru/lama nak tinggal. First dekat Taman Universiti, Skudai dan satu lagi International Student Village(ISV), Nusajaya. Okay, ISV ni under Educity Iskandar and not NMIT, so location dia depan kampus NMIT yang Nusajaya tu ja, no need to think about the transportations because you only need to walk there by your own. Kalau tak mahu duduk dalam hostel NMIT, you can find by yourself or with your friends. But mostly students yang aku kenal menyewa dekat area Gelang Patah, Nusajaya, Skudai and Bukit Indah. Pandai-pandai carilah kan.

Life as a student

PART I

Life as a student?

Student tu semua sama. Mempunyai tujuan yang sama. Tapi, situasi dan prosesnya agak berbeza-beza.

Life as a school student or college student?

Those are parts of situation between the place for students study.

Kalau korang tanya aku mana satu yang lebih aku suka? Student zaman sekolah ke zaman ipt?
Of course aku akan jawab ipt. Tapi, apa-apa pun both sekolah dan ipt ada kelebihan dan kekurangan masing-masing dan tak semua akan kata zaman ipt lagi best.

Aku rasa masa aku jadi student zaman sekolah, aku masih belum cukup matang. Aku masih hidup dan tinggal dalam imaginasi aku sendiri. Means, aku masih lagi bergantung harap semuanya pada parents untuk tolong aku buat itu ini. Aku tak tahu nak bergerak sendiri. Dan segala yang aku buat hampir semua bersama mereka.

Masa zaman sekolah nilah kita actually belum kenal sedalam-dalamnya perangai kawan-kawan kita. Actually kita hanya tahu luaran mereka je sebab selagi tak duduk serumah dengan orang tu kita takkan tahu perangai sebenar dia. Beza dengan ipt, kalau korang dah duduk rumah sewa dengan kawan-kawan kau, maka dekat situ bermulalah satu persatu perangai kawan-kawan kau tu diorang keluarkan di mana dekat kelas dia tak tunjuk kat kau tapi dekat rumah akan terserlah.

But actually, from that moment la akan bermulanya proses mematangkan diri. Di mana kau kena pandai handle sendiri, kau mula terfikir takkanlah semua benda kau nak bagitau parents kau lagi-lagi perihal remeh-temeh yang housemates kau timbulkan, Even sakit hati macam mana pun kau dengan perangai dia, takkan kau nak ceritakan aib dia kat parents kau kan. Okay, kalau bab-bab aib mengaib ni memang semua dah sedia maklum dosa kesalahan dia macam manakan, so aku tak payah terang.

Jadi, nak tak nak kau kena hadap perangai kawan kau tu. Sama ada kau nak settle cara baik, cara tak baik, atau lari dari masalah? Lari dari masalah tu kalau boleh elakkan. Okay, kalau cara baik, kau cuba face to face dengan dia, cakap baik-baik. Tanya apa masalah dia dan apa masalah kau. Bincang elok-elok then lepastu terpulanglah. Kalau dia okay, alhamdulillah masalah selesai. Kalau dia cannot accept itu memang masalah dia. Maybe you need others help such as an advice from your friends or parents ke.

So, from here kau akan dapat sesuatu pengalaman yang baru. Kau akan nampak yang diri kau makin matang, sebab kau dapat settle kan sesuatu masalah dengan cara baik. No more tarik-tarik rambut, masam-masam muka, sindir-menyindir, luahan perasaan yang entah hape-hape punya carutan kat media social. Stop that kind of carutan at media social, kau akan ganggu orang lain yang ada follow/friend dengan kau. Looks like kau tunjuk benda yang tak baik kat public, better avoid it.


What can I tell you guys is never ever give up in your life. Search some new ways to settle your problem. Don't use the old one (carut-mencarut). Ask an advice from others and face the problem no matter what happen.
